Godfried van Berkel

Attorney at law

In 1996, Godfried graduated as a choir conductor at the Amsterdam Conservatory. After a career in the telecommunications industry and ICT with KPN and as a self-employed consultant, Godfried obtained in 2006 both his bachelor and master degree cum laude in Dutch civil law and civil procedure at Utrecht University. Godfried joined VMW Taxand the same year. After a transfer in 2010 to Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuyn, where he specialized in construction law and public procurement law, Godfried returned to VMW Taxand in 2011.

Godfried gained a wide experience in both corporate transactions and litigation and focusses on insolvency and restructuring, corporate and commercial litigation and public procurement. Godfried frequently represents domestic and international clients in civil proceedings such as d&o liabilty and post-acquisition disputes. Godfried also advises on ICT-related matters.
