Jimmie obtained degrees in Economic, Public and Business Law (University of Utrecht) and Tax Law (University of Amsterdam), and an LL.M. in international & EU tax law (International Tax Centre at the University of Leiden). He joined VMW Taxand in 1997 as tax lawyer in the domestic and international tax practice. In 1998 he qualified as an attorney at law and became a member of the Dutch Bar association.

Jimmie specialises primarily in corporate tax issues and employee benefits. He is called upon to assist with domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, and to advise on setting up new business,  both by foreign companies in the Netherlands and by Dutch companies expanding abroad. He also advises on matters involving employee benefits, with particular focus on salary splits, secondment programs for expatriates and equity-based incentive schemes and bonuses.

Jimmie has a strong interest in the field of energy. He leads the VMW Taxand Energy Team, covering all aspects relating to oil & gas, electricity, alternative resources / renewables, and suppliers & contractors. 

Jimmie regularly lectures at (international) seminars and conferences. He is member of the AIJA (Association International de Jeunes Advocate) and the IFA (International Fiscal Association). He is  the VMW Taxand representative for the IRO (Dutch association of suppliers in the oil & gas industry). He is also member of  NeVER (Dutch association of energy law).
