Marek Kupperman

Marek Kupperman has been active as a corporate lawyer for over 25 years now, in private practise, but also as in-house counsel for a number of years with a major Dutch independent investment company in the early nineties.

Marek focuses on mergers & acquisitions, general corporate and finance work and on corporate and commercial litigation. Marek started out at Nolst Trenite (now Simmons&Simmons) in Rotterdam. After his term as in house counsel with a major Dutch independent investment company he co-founded the Amsterdam law firm of Kupperman van der Wiel where he was name-partner, chairman of the partnership and managing partner. He headed the corporate group, with a distinct focus on private equity and fund structuring at that time. In 2004 Marek joined Eversheds Amsterdam as a partner assisting his corporate clients in the international financial and trade sector. As of 2008 he headed the Dutch Banking, Finance and Securities department of Eversheds the Netherlands. In 2011 Marek joined VMW Taxand.

 Marek’s special capabilities are:

• International mergers & acquisitions for foreign investors in the Netherlands and Dutch companies abroad, always in cooperation with one or more of the network firms in the area of corporate, finance, tax and labor;
• Advise on corporate structuring and restructuring, corporate governance, intra group arrangements;
• Corporate and commercial litigation (arbitration included);
• Fund structuring and regulatory, aiming at private equity and investments fund (UCITS included);
• Commercial contracting (distribution, supply);
• Banking, financing and security rights (for both lenders and borrowers, transaction finance, asset based lending);
• Legal opinions.

Marek read law at the University of Amsterdam and completed the Grotius postdoc course in Security law.
