Marjan Olfers to join VMW Taxand as a partner on 1 January 2012

Marjan Olfers is to become a VMW Taxand partner on 1 January 2012. Her main responsibilities will be advising clients on sports, media and recreational events law and litigation in these fields.

Alongside her role as attorney-at-law Marjan also serves as an assistant professor of Sport and Law at VU University Amsterdam and is a member of the supervisory board of Ajax Football Club. Marjan also has positions on the board of the Dutch Union for Sport and Law, the Arbitration Committee for Sport Sponsoring, the Netherlands Appeals Committee in Doping Cases, the Instituut Sportrechtspraak, the scientific subcommittee of the Amsterdam Sports Council, and is editor of the sports legal journal Tijdschrift voor Sport en Recht.

Marjan Olfers was an attorney-at-law with DLA Piper until 1 December 2011.
